More fall pictures

The road home; this is the gravel road that leads home.
While out on Thursday afternoon I took some pictures with my new little Canon camera. (Canon Power Shot SD780 IS) These cameras were taken out the windshield of the car as I was driving, no really! I just held it up and snapped it without looking, I was keeping my eyes on the road. This little camera is really fantastic!!! The pictures it takes are great and the videos are fantastic also.

Some tree tops along the road. I think that the very blue sky is from the tinted strip in the windshield, since I remember tilting the camera up as I took this picture.

The picture below is a one in a million shot! I just pointed and clicked....brings new meaning to the point and shoot camera! The orange tree caught my eye as I rounded the bend of the road....again the deep blue is probably from the tinted windshield.....but click on the picture to enlarge. I couldn't believe what I saw!!!! True love.

In case you can't see it really, really close.....
Here is a cropped version.....how cool is that???? Click on this one. The elderly man is walking with a cane and his wife is helping him as they go arm and arm back up the driveway. I am blown away that I got such a picture by just holding my camera up and clicking without really focusing and knowing what I was shooting at.

wow, what cool pictures. I checked into riding lessons fees and they're not bad! Will have to work out a budget, cuz I REALLY miss riding. I do believe you have inspired me! Thanks.

Beautiful photos, Jane -- especially the crop of the last one. :o)

Your new camera sounds great! My camera will need to be replaced soon -- the battery door latch is partly broken off, and I think it's only a matter of time before it breaks the rest of the way!

Oh Jane...The photo with the 'Old Man' and his wife brought tears to these eyes...
I wish that we ALL had roads to lead us home as you!!!

Instantly I thought of my Dad and Mom...He had his cane in later years & I have a photo of them both walking at my brothers in Ma. along an Old dirt road in the Autumn...Funny, when you find the love of your life and how they Age together to become One...
Thank you SO much for posting your lovely photo's...

When I enlarged the last photo it actually made me tear up. What a beautiful, unstaged moment in time you captured, complete with a gorgeous fall background.

BTW I also have a Canon Powershot and it is a great little camera!

Julie, thanks!

Katharine, thanks, that last picture is one in a million! The new camera is one I can carry no the horse and in the car for quick clicks. I still use my big Canon Rebel and love it too.

Desert Rose, not sure who the people are will have to try and find out.

Marilyn, it was truly a great shot. I didn't even know that they were in it until I really looked after I got it on the computer. My lucky day, a very heart warming photo.

Joyce, who was your grandpa?

Melissa, yes it is a great unexpected shot, a gem! I love my little Canon and I love my big Canon....both great cameras!

My grandparents were Lee Ackley and Alice Augenstein. My grandmother died in the '50s. My grandpa remarried a few years later(Hazel Erb) and they lived in Whipple.

Joyce, I knew Lee and Hazel, they lived across from the post office and a street over from where we lived. I thought of Lee as soon as you said that your grandmother was an Augenstein. He told us that, my husband used to work on their freezer so we were over there often. We lived in the town of Whipple for 20 years before we bought this farm, 12 years ago.....time flies!

I am blown away, too! You did so good! That's a keeper!
If I were you, I'd print up a copy, put it in a frame, find that old couple and surprise them with it as a gift. Wouldn't that be just so heartwarming?! I bet it would even be a keepsake for their grandkids one day :)
