The picture above is Lucy ahead of us on the old road, it's a beautiful ride on this short road off the main road.
The water tower, I was standing on the church steps to take this picture. The road turns into the church yard as you can see. It also goes on past the tower to the left and back down to a county road; Gilly and I came in from the right on the old road.
Here is the church and on this side is the newer part of the cemetery. I love coming up here it's so pretty and peaceful.
This is a bench mark set into the sandstone steps of the church. I think it's pretty neat, this is the first one I have ever seen!
This picture was taken at the very end of the cemetery, down by the road at the tree line. It's on the left in the picture of the tower.
Gilly taking a breather after our ride up to the church. There was a nice breeze blowing that day and it was warm. Gilly was watching some squirrels and some how Lucy missed them.
Looking toward the church from the far corner of the church yard. The picture below is of that spot where the red tree is.
This is a short video clip of me and Gilly riding up the old road with Lucy in the lead. Gonzo had to stay home that day, he doesn't mind really well when we have to ride on the main road way and I am afraid he will get hit. All the house dogs were home guarding the house! LOL
I wish for more days like I had for this ride, I fear that winter will come too fast, then I won't be riding much at all.

What a beautiful old church. I love cemeterys too. I find them peaceful. Some think that is weird. Love the video!
Oh! I just loved this, Jane! I loved all the photos and I especially enjoyed the video. It was as if you were taking me with you on the ride. I sometimes miss that special view from between a horse's ears....I know you know what I mean :)
I hope your weather keeps holding up and stays warm and more Fall-like. As you know Fall is long gone here. Our snow has turned rock hard and crunchy today and the ground is frozen solid. All of the water buckets keep freezing over. I am SO not ready for winter. bah!

Jane thanks for visiting my blog today. I need to thank you again for the video. I haven't been able to ride for awhile because of health stuff and I can't tell you how much fun the video with the sounds of Gilly walking the trail brought to me. Seeing his two ears looking forward was very cool. A great post that brought a smile to my heart!
Dusty Devoe, Thanks, it is a neat church. I love sitting on the church steps and just watching the squirrels and birds. It's a beautiful place.
Lisa, thanks, it was a trick to video because Gilly doesn't neck rein and at one point he was tossing his head. Brat! See the red leaf going past as we turned into the church yard? That was poison ivy and I was trying to keep him from running me into it! LOL Today was a good day to ride but my shoulder is still bothering me some so I decided not to.
Rural Rambler, so glad you enjoyed my little video. I love videoing while on Gilly's back; I too love looking between his ears....those beautiful black tipped ears! (sigh) :-)
What a great ride through some very pretty country. Love the pictures of church.
So glad you still have some ride days left! PNW is pretty much just rain now. We have a covered arena but it's not my cup of "lemonade"!
What a beautiful ride! It looked like such a gorgeous day! I wish we would have been able to go on a ride like that, but we are stuck in numerous rain storms now. Probably won't end for another 7 months! I really need to move to a warmer climate!
What a beautiful ride! And to be able to combine that with a trip to the cemetery and old church...be still my heart! I'd be all aflutter!
Beautiful old church! I love your pictures. A lot of my inspiration comes from pictures and these really speak to me...even the water tower.
Thanks for this!
A beautiful ride AND a great destination as well. I am jealous! I wish my pictures turned out like yours. Since we are using the same camera it is clearly the operator that is lacking!
Oh Jane...lovely ride on Gilly to a fabulous spot. Loved the leaves rustling under Gilly's hooves up to the Old Church.
Ooouuu, just have a sigh of contentment for you~

What a pretty place to ride. I know some people find graveyards to be creepy, but I find them to be peaceful and relaxing. There's nothing to do but honor your deceased loved ones and reflect on your own life.
What a great day for a ride. Old churches and cemetaries are just the neatest places. Nice that you could ride there.
Jane, what a gorgeous ride. I just love that lil church and cemetery, how beautiful!
Hope your weather holds up a lil while longer so you and Gilly can squeeze in a few more rides. I am not looking forward to winter at all! We're still in the 60s, looks like it's going to stay that way for most of this week.
Have a wonderful week!!
Looks like you had a beautiful ride!!
