Petey, new member of the family

Here is Petey, on the left with the other members of our family, the inside dogs. Buster is guarding the food, have to watch the new comer, he may eat it all you know! Gonzo and Laverne are sacked out too much excitement. This was taken shortly after I brought Petey home to meet them.

Now everyone is asleep....well Buster, who you can't see in this pictures is still guarding the food.

What kind of dog is Petey, you are probably wondering??? Not sure, he is a little smaller than Gonzo, has a monkey face so he probably has some boxer or Boston Terrier, has a big overbite like Laverne
Petey likes to crawl on the floor when he gets excited and wants to go outside. I have tried to catch him in action with video but he will stop and look at me and won't start again. Until I am not running the camera!

Petey isn't too interested in basted Meaty Bones, he just looked at it then me as if to say, "You want me to eat this tasteless thing???"

All the dogs have accepted Petey and here is Laverne snuggled up to him sleeping on the couch. Now I have to fight for a place to sit......four dogs in the house! They are sitting on my end of the couch and Gonzo is on the other end.

No matter how many times I fold up this blanket it will never stay that way. They like to move it around and crawl under it and the one on the back of the couch too. That is for them to sit on so they can look out the window but Laverne and Gonzo have other ideas. It's always wadded up in a ball and one of them is under it. So far Petey hasn't had the urge to cover up.

He seems to think that Mike's chair is a good place to nap; this is where he spends most of his napping time.

Petey is eight years old and we got him when a long time friend passed away last year. Petey was given to our friend by one of his daughters for a companion dog. After our friend passed away Petey went to live with another family but that didn't work out and now he is here on the farm with us. I think our friend would like that, Petey has a lot of friends to play with and really likes it here. We are glad he is here with us, just one more member of the family. Maybe we should call this farm "Dog Trot Farm"!

Below is our friend and Petey, taken last August, just a few months before he passed away suddenly. We miss him and will take good care of his beloved pet.

Awwww, you guys are great for adopting him into your family. He looks right at home and you can rest assured that his Dad is grateful that you're taking such good care of him.

Ironically, I just adopted a new doggie this past weekend! I'll do a post about her on Thursday. She's very funny looking, but sweet. :)

Bless you for taking Petey in when your friend passed away and his other home didn't work out. He surely looks like he's fitting in with your other dogs.

He's a cute dog. Actually, ALL of your four legged friends, inside and outside, are cute. I'd love to reach through my monitor and pet them all.

Ah Jane, I knew I liked you. "smile" What a very nice thing for you to do. To make a home for these adorable doggie critters. I love all animals and have been known to have a bunch too, although now I only have one kitty. Seeing this just makes my heart sing.

Looks like he is one of the gang and fits right in. Good karma to take him and it offers his former owner peace in knowing that you have him.

How wonderful you took Petey in! Dogs his age often have a hard time finding a good second home. He is a super cute dog. All of your dogs look related, LOL! :) They look very happy and spoiled pooches!

Lisa~thanks, yes he is fitting right in to the group! Your new doggie is soooo cute!!!

Paint Girl~yes, one big happy family!

JoJo~thank you! This is where Petey needs to be; I feel that something intervened and Petey ended up here.

Dusty Devoe, Desert Rose and Jill~Thanks!!!

Julie~no, no color preference, they just all seem to be similar in color don't they? Gilly's lip is all healed and we do have an indoor cat the the dogs, including Petey all chase. The cat instigates it all too!!! She even chases them!! LOL

Alice~yes, I have gone to the dogs!

Kritter Keeper~Petey's favorite chair!

Jan~thanks, when we first moved to Whipple our friend kept my horse at his farm. At first I would come everyday to feed my horse, she was turned out with his horses. After awhile he said he would feed her, I didn't need to come everyday. He had to feed his 3 so what was one more. He did many little nice things for us over the years, something you don't forget. So taking Petey to keep safe for him, it is an honor to return the favor!

Photogchick~yes, I agree, good Karma!

Jen~I think so too!

Pony Girl~age didn't make a difference to me. Petey is a sweet dog, we still have some grumbling at times but they all work it out. Things are great here at dogpatch!! LOL

Marilyn~yes, I believe I do have a kennel....it's so nice the dogs let US live here!! One big happy family!
