Old log church

Went to North Bend State Park for Easter Buffet dinner and it was wonderful! They had prime rib, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, steamed broccoli, salad bar, gravies, stuffing, veggie lasagna and other yummy things. Oh, and of course the dessert bar! All kinds of cakes, pies and a chocolate type of cake? called genaush. OMG it was DELICIOUS!! Everything was yummy! and the best part I didn't have to cook! Ahhhh Then we went for a drive through the park, didn't see any deer but it was a nice drive.
The picture of the old log church was on the way out of the park on a road we hadn't been on before. A pretty long stretch of back road that sometimes we weren't sure if we would make it back to a better road, but we did. Glad we went because the old church was really neat! The sign on the church says, "Bear Run Church 1891".(click on pictures to see larger)
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with family or friends or both!

Very cool log built church. I'd love to live in a log home.

I'm glad you had a really nice Easter, too. We did fun stuff with the kids, but didn't have an Easter dinner, as hubby worked a graveyard shift followed by a morning shift. He came home and went right to sleep, so the kids and I ate chicken nuggets and fries for Easter dinner. lol!

Thanks all for the comments! It was a grand day, good food and a very nice drive. North Bend Park is a little over an hours drive away in the hills of West Virginia. There are some really, really deep hollows there but they are beautiful. Loved that little log church, would have loved to have seen it in it's heyday. Can't you just hear the old hymns being sung?

The old church is very intriguing, I love old buildings like this. I wonder if they plan to restore it so it would be safe to go inside and explore.
Glad you had a good Easter, we did too, and the best part was no cooking, and watching the grandkids have a great day.

What a darling church. It's too bad it's not open for Easter services. Worshiping in that cabin with all of nature's glory around would be perfect.

Oh, that dinner sounds so good. Even this early in the morning, it makes me hungry. Yum.

What a wonderful way to spend Easter!

Sounds like you had a great day. And I love that church cabin. If I could just haul it to Indiana I would move right in!
