Grey Horse in progress

Here is more of the rug finished. I have worked on it all day, off and on. Had to take time out to feed the boys, take the dogs out, eat....you know.... stuff!
I won't get to work on it as much tomorrow, will be out of the house in the afternoon but it's coming along pretty well and should be done before too much longer.

Oh, Jane, it's beautiful! The color choices are lovely. I love the flowers and the way the horse's head is framed. Wow!!!

Did you say you are starting a website? Do you make these rugs on commission, then?

Absolutely gorgeous! You are so talented!
And don't you get so annoyed when life's responsibilities and obligations interrupt you when you are deep into a project and into your 'groove'?

I look forward to seeing this when it's complete. wow!

Wow, it looks great! I am impressed. Such work is not cheap to purchase, either. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Looks like one of the OLD photos from the early 1900's. (that's a compliment) Great job on the border Jane, especially with the horseshoes!

Katharine, thank you. I try to keep my colors very antique looking. I love the faded mottled colors in the old rugs. Of course when the old rugs were new they were very brightly colored but time has faded them, and that's what I love!
Yes, I do this rugs on commission.

Kacy, thanks. Not snowed in but some days freezing, raining, spitting snow; WINTER, NOT my favorite time of year!

Cowgirljlynn, thank you, and yes it is a lot of work. I dye all my own wool and cut it to do these rugs. Love doing the horse rugs more than anything!

Lisa, yes, I don't like to be interrupted when I'm on a roll. The dogs will be jumping up and down saying we gotta PEE!!! Then I have to get up and let them out! LOL

Dusty Devoe, thank you!

Pony Girl, thank you; yes, the work is high priced because of the time and work that goes into it. I will post about what it takes to make a rug at a later time.

Marilyn, thank you! That is exactly what I want my work to look like, 19th century works. I am so fascinated by the folk art of that time period.

I like the colors you chose also. And I can't believe you dye all your own wool, too. I'm impressed!

Leah, glad you like my colors, yes, I do dye all my own wool. I don't always get the exact colors I wanted but then sometimes there are some unexpected beautiful surprises too! Very interesting.

ohmygosh. I am sooo glad you're back to hooking (rugs)...you do the most awesomest (not a word, I know) work and it looks old. What you're going for, I know. Well, woman, you ROCK!

Jane, this is beautiful! It's certainly the perfect time of year to work on it. Goodness knows I have a baby quilt I need to get out and finish and I keep putting it off... my daughter-in-law is due in early June, so I better get my butt in gear on that quilt! :)
