Pokey and Gilly visit Lacy..........

Gilly and Pokey love to visit down the road at Lacy's field. Gilly strolling along the fence; he has the beginnings of his winter just coming in. This was the 19th of September.
Pokey had been following along behind Gilly; Gilly's little shadow.
Pokey checking out the grass, "this smells different than my grass." Pokey wasn't feeling very frisky that day; it had been a week and a half since he had had surgery and he was still a little under the weather.
Gilly giving me a look back over his shoulder for a good picture. Lacy has managed to get Pokey away from Gilly; she wants to mother Pokey. First time she saw Pokey she thought he was her baby, she has had a few babies and is a really good mother. She thinks Gilly doesn't need Pokey, she wants him. Have been trying to talk Kim into getting a little donkey for Lacy to have a companion..........we will see!
Gilly having a good run around the field. I modified this photo with a color spot on Gilly. Look at those beautiful dapples shine on his butt!!! I wonder just what it is about some horses that makes them look dappled in the sunlight. Anyone know??? It's not something you can see all the time but when the sun shines just right there they are, shining like new pennys..........beautiful!!!
Gilly went running past me and I got a good shot of his flying mane. He loves to run when down at Lacy's. We don't have any flat places in our field and when he gets a chance he loves to run!
Always fun to go visiting!!!

I have never seen an appaloosa jack before :) Or is he a hampshire?

lovely pair!

He does look like he has Appaloosa in him but I don't know. His dad was the same color and the mom was just a gray/brown donkey. Lacy looks like she could be his mom!
Thanks!
