The adventures of Gilly the rescue horse and his side kick and partner in crime, Pokey the donkey.

Being with a horse is a journey that never ends. What they have to teach us is amazing; but we must quiet our mind to hear them. ~ jca

More pictures from Tuesday

Here are some more pictures of the hoof trim. Off to the left you can see the door that I had come in with Gilly and the shelf that I got thrown into. The double doors that are in front of Pokey, Gilly kicked when Lacy went after him and he knocked the door latch off and broke a few boards............glad that kick wasn't directed at me!! All the dogs like to hang out around hoof trim time, they like to chew on the hoof trimmings, crazy dogs!
Gilly was running and slipped in the mud and went clear down on his side; hit the ground and popped right back up (wow...glad I wasn't on his back when this happened!)
He recovered his footing and it on the move again; look at Pokey and his little dressage trot!!
Lacy trying to maneuver Pokey off to the other side of the field. It didn't work, he just turned and ran back to Gilly.
Here is Lacy and Anna; Lacy is being a good girl now. Must be the crazy girly hormones making her act like a witch! After all the commotion earlier she was good to Gilly; he however is very careful around her and avoids her heels.

This morning it was -9; extremely cold; Mike is still feeding Gilly and Pokey for me in the mornings. I think the high today is suppose to be a high of 7 with wind chill of -10 I don't think I will be outside for very long. The boys are standing out by the gate now soaking up the sunshine and napping. I am definitely NOT going outside untill I have to!

Gilly's a smart man to avoid hormonal women :o) Jane, we are complaining about 15 degrees. I can't believe the weather you are having!

Stay inside. Stay warm!

Yes, Gilly is one smart boy!!!
I wish I could stay inside but I have a barn to clean and Gil and Poke need fed in the evening; Mike feeds for me in the morning. Wish those two critters would poop outside (sometimes they do)I do try faithfully to clean the barn twice a day and don't let it get ahead of me. The cold makes my ribs and chest hurt more but it has to be done and I don't hear anyone volunteering to do it! LOL
(thank goodness for pain meds!!!)

Thank goodness nothing was broken ! I love the photo of Pokey trotting, Pokey is clearly showing and saying, this is how you do an extended trot Gilly.
