Here is Gilly nibbling on some hay, click to enlarge, he has icicles in his tail and his jaw whiskers. There are also some hanging off his ears and sides. Will he go in the barn, no; I guess he isn't cold....boy, looking at him sure makes me cold!
The boys saw something that spooked them, I looked up the hill but couldn't see what it was. Pokey eventually trotted over to Gilly to stand next to him, he feels safer when he is by his big buddy. This was taken about 3:30 in the afternoon, the sun has already started to go over the hill and it was 17 degrees, this was the warmest it had been all day. Now at 9:10 pm it's -1 and still going down!
Pokey is still concerned about what it up on the hill. Well, yes I do agree that the snow is beautiful but......I have seen about enough of it's beauty for one year. I would love to see some dead brown grass or even some....dare I say it??? MUD! At least that would mean it was a little warmer.
The weather forecast is calling for another inch of snow tomorrow and maybe more on Sunday! ugh.
I am counting down the days till spring.....it can't get here soon enough!!!

Hey Jane...The older I get, the less I like winter.
Hi sweet jane!
Ok. Since you don't mind, I am gonna send you some mud. Out of Cadence's mud hole! The snow finally melted making his "pig pen" spot just the way he loves it. Sloppy and soupy!
So from our farm to yours, to Pokey and Gilly~a big, wet, gushy, box of sloppy mud!
Or better yet, I will send Cadence to hang out with your boys :)
Spring will be here before we know it!
xo, misha
Great pictures! I know what you mean about mud - I'm looking forward to some muddy horses.
I know what you mean Jane...Enough is Enough.
Were suppose to get More snow on Wednesday.
My poor dog doesn't even want to go out for too long, I think he needs some snow boots. He keeps holding his foot up, I do believe it's a bit FROSTY for his feet...
I don't know about the 'Mud', but I surly would love to see some bare ground.
Stay Warm

Yes, enough is enough. I'm sooo over the snow.
Well now I know where all our snow and rain has went this winter.....right there with you! lol!
Your pictures are beautiful. I agree. But I'm sure it would be great to have a break from all that white stuff. Come here to New Mexico. We're having a very dry year.
Why is it always seem to be 'everything, or nothing' when it comes to weather?

though your pictures make it all seem so beatutiful...I would not want to be there in that cold! We have finally gotten to some good weather her in the desert, actually a bit warm some days! 70 degrees is perfect ridig weather!
Jane, I've never quite understood why horses prefer to be outside in the cold and snow when they could be inside, sheltered from it all. Although Pepper and Chili have a loafing shed to protect them, they're out in the wind and snow!!
BTW, I posted two new videos on Snippets of the girls if you'd like to take a look.
Give Gilly and Pokey a smooch from me and my girls.
Beautiful photos!, love how your barn looks in the snow. We just got a foot last night!
