HAY!

Hum? What is that I smell? It is, can it be.....new hay for me and my good friend Gilly!!!! (darn, wish these flies would stay outa my nose! ahhh chooo! pfffftttt!)
Dad cut hay on Tuesday and the next day it smellllled soooooooo goooood!!! Gilly said he wished we could eat it right now....but I told him no we can't, it will give us a belly ache if we do. We have to wait until winter when all the green grass is gone. He said I was a smart ass, he is just jealous cause I "AM" smarter than he is!!!
Wow, one hundred and seventy two bales of yummy hay for me and Big Gil this winter, we are soooo lucky. Hehe.....even luckier that we don't have to do anything either, just eat it! wink, wink! :-D
My mom didn't get any pictures cause she was too busy, picking up hay bales and driving the truck and trailer in the field. Me and Gilly just stood in the barn, in the shade in front of our fan and waited knowing that this winter we would have plenty of sweet hay to fill our tummies!

Then we took a nap!

The End!!!

Teehehehe!
I coo when I open your blog and see that wonderful view of those two...they love each other and I think it is so cute!

Gosh, does it seem early for hay?? I think ours will be a ready in June...pretty soon here!

I was reading some dud'es blog and he has a natural fly repellent mixture..sounded like a good thing to try( being careful of mucus membranes + eyes)
2 C Apple cider vinegar
1 C water
1 Tbs eucalyptus oil
Having to really shake it every time...he said.

Yummy stuff for winter Gilly man...you just wait!

Yeah, our neighbor had his first cut weeks ago. Unfortunately, he's taken to selling the entire crop to one person. I guess he doesn't want to mess with us little guys.

Jacque, they did! LOL both of them laid down like they had done some work!

Val, I sure am glad I don't have to hunt for hay like my neighbor. Baling your own is hard work but well worth it.

Desert Rose, I guess I could have driven with one hand and taken pictures out the windshield of the truck. Maybe next time.
We still have one more cutting and I still have over 100 bales from last year. We got plenty, they had better eat faster! LOL

Kacy, yes, that Pokey is smart! Thanks again for suggesting I use that pix for the header, I love it!
Around here Memorial Day is when everyone does hay. We had a great week for it too....no rain at all! It's really GOOD hay.
I have a recipe for fly spray similar. Skin So Soft, vinegar, drop of liquid soap, eucalyptus oil....smells like some kind of aftershave lotion! It helps some but we are trying "Bug Off" garlic this year. Haven't been on it long enough yet to tell.

Leah, we don't sell our hay, don't really have enough to sell. If we do have extra we will give it to the guy who helps us and we also buy beef from him.

Gail, thanks, it is a beautiful shot, I got lucky!
